Through BALANCE, you have access to free, unbiased money management information and assistance.  All you have to do is make a toll-free phone call.  Counselors can answer many of your questions immediately - from how long an item stays on your credit report to whether it's better to lease or buy a car.  If bills have gotten out of hand, your counselor may be able to arrange a Debt Management Plan.  BALANCE negotiates with creditors to reduce interest and fees so you can pay your debit quickly and efficiently.

Through Balance Track, an on-line personal finance education center, you can explore all of the essential elements of personal finance.  You will interactive learning modules with links to helpful resources.  There are even quiz's to allow you to test your knowledge.

FISHING AND FARMING AREN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE...

Phishing and pharming is a technique that fraudsters use to "trick" you into giving them your account information, primarily credit card or debit card.  They do this by sending you an email, asking you to click a link and verify your card information.  One of the most popular ruses is Paypal but there are many more out there.  They then use your information to to drain your account.

As an account holder, you should be aware that you will never be solicited to provide or verify information via email, or even by phone, and no one should ever be given your PIN number under any circumstances.  If you receive an email requesting any such information, please report it to either reportphishing@antiphishing.org or the Federal Trade Commission at spam@uce.gov to have their links shut down to prevent others from falling for their ruse.  If you think that you have been a victim of phishing or pharming, please contact us immediately.
